Hello to everyone in UWM's Rhetoric, Writing, and Culture 240.
As you can see I've had this blog awhile but since postings have been slow, I'm going to use it for class as well.
Since Andy mentioned on his blog that we had a tension between what a comic, graphic novel, and comic strip all are I think I'll post my POV on the subject. To mean a comic is a monthly serial that focuses on a short plot line that can focus on board number of subplots and characters. A graphic novel is more of a formal storyline that is contained in a single volume. Finally a comic strip is something you see in a newspaper or magazine. Of course, these are vague definitions and are by no means what everyone else should feel on the matter.
Anyways, I hope to interact with ya'll more over the semester.
And since we talked about the Watchmen in class, here's something that may or may not be related:
